Avengers: Endgame Predictions

With Avengers: Endgame coming out later this month, it seems appropriate to discuss what many people are predicting could happen, and adding my own predictions, too. Endgame runs just over 3 hours long, so I’m sure plenty is going to happen throughout the movie, and obviously too much to predict. But, I’m going to do my best to make as many correct predictions as I can.

So, we left off at the end of Infinity Wars with Thanos satisfied with his accomplishment of wiping out half the universes population. This has left the remaining Marvel heroes a bit defeated. But, they are receiving some reinforcements for their seconds attempt at taking down Thanos. Endgame will include Captain Marvel and Ant-Man, neither of whom have appeared in an Avengers movie yet. One of the bigger fan theories, and most irrational and unlikely (at least in my mind), includes one of these new Avengers.

One of the most popular theories going into Endgame is that Ant-Man is the key to the Avengers success against Thanos. If you don’t know already, Ant-Man has the ability to shrink down to the size of an ant, but also grow to become a giant. So what many fans have suggested is that Ant-Man should shrink down to the size of an ant, and some how enter Thanos, (however he could, or be willing to…), and once he is inside Thanos, grow and basically make Thanos explode.

Personally, I would hate to see Endgame do this, but I’m also 99.99% sure that they would never do this. I feel like this would take away credibility from the entire series if the accumulation of the entire series is settled like that. But luckily for all of us who don’t want the movie to end like this, this theory seems to be just a fan theory, and that’s it.

Another fan theory that I saw while researching was that Loki isn’t actually dead. We saw him “die” at the beginning of Infinity War. But there is a fan theory floating around that there have been hints showing that he is actual fine. Someone pointed out that when Loki stabbed Thanos at the beginning of Infinity War, Loki stabbed him with his left hand, rather than his right had, which apparently means that Loki was actually a projection during that scene. I’m not really sure how this person reached that conclusion, but I can see Loki being still alive. He is known as the God of Mischief in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all (denofgeek.com).

There is another theory that involves Loki still being alive for Endgame. This theory suggests that Loki has actual been “projecting” as Bruce Banner throughout all of Infinity War. This would explain why Banner acts so weird throughout the film, and why Hulk never shows up. Even in previous movies, Banner always seemed hesitant to take part in any Avengers activity. But this theory seems to be unlikely. Including this would have a reaction very much like the Ant-Man theory. The series would lose credibility, and it would just be an easy cop-out to get Loki back in the film. I really hope that this theory doesn’t hold any truth (denofgeek.com).

In terms of my personal predictions, I have a few that would be really bug if they were to happen. The first prediction that I have is that at least one of the original Avengers that will die during Endgame. Probably in a very heroic way, acting as a sacrifice that is necessary in an attempt to defeat Thanos. I know that Chris Evans, the actor who plays Captain America, has pretty much already said that this is his last Marvel Movie. His contract is up after this next movie, and he hasn’t signed on for anymore movies. I don’t see more than one of the original Avengers dying during Endgame, but I can definitely see Captain America sacrificing himself to save one of the others, maybe Tony Stark?

And my personal prediction for how the movie will end, and this is without research, is that the Avengers get the Infinity Gauntlet back, and utilize the power of the time stone, to go back in time, before the snap of Thanos’ fingers, and bring the characters that died at the end of Infinity War back. Something that I would like to see is that the movie may focus a little more on secondary characters, and have them play a larger role in restoring the universe. Personally, I would love to see Rocket Raccoon come to the rescue, and bring his friends back. He is the lone character from Guardians of the Galaxy left after Infinity War, and you better believe he is going to be extremely desperate to bring Groot back to life, as well as the others (and it is confirmed that there is a Guardians of the Galaxy 3, so…. they need their characters back).

Speaking of characters from Guardians of the Galaxy, I have a strong feeling that Gamora will be back in Endgame. I can definitely see her playing a huge role in restoring the universe. She seemed to be one of the only ones that could connected with Thanos, which makes sense because she was his favorite daughter. I can see her leading him into a trap to get the Infinity Gauntlet from him and restore order to the universe.

There are hundreds of fan theories to go along with Endgame, these are just a few that I saw and my personal predictions. The only thing that I know for certain about this movie is that I cannot wait until April 26th, and that I will be in the movie theater as soon as I can once it opens.
