Duke Moves To 2-0 Post Coach K Ban

Duke finally put together their first complete half all season long last night, while holding on for a 84-74 win against those pesky Fighting Irish from Notre Dame. Grayson Allen poured in 21 points for my Dukies in what might be a stepping stone to getting back to the Grayson of old. I love the boos from everyone when he gets the ball. You want to boo a college kid viciously? Okay, he’ll quietly go 6-13 and drop 21 points all on your face. Keep the boos coming!

Jayson Tatum finally realized that he is a bully and can get any shot he wants at the rim. I’ve been saying it all year, he would be the fourth best player on the Jets right now with his physique and a light bulb went on in his head as he went 8-14 from the field for 19 points while snagging 14 rebounds.

The key to this game was the run Duke had at the end of the first half. They outscored the Irish 16-4 to end the half which propelled them to their 12 point lead at the break.

Moving forward Duke seems to be hitting a late season stride at the perfect time. Their next three games are at home against a horrible Pittsburgh team, a UNC team that just got smacked around by The U and Clemson who is 13th in the ACC out of 15 teams. All it takes is a little run at the end of the year, a little end of season magic, for a team that’s been struggling all season to make a deep tournament run.
