Hulu Adds “Random Episode” Extension

Have you ever spent hours and hours trying to choose which episode of your favorite show to watch?  I know I have plenty of times.

Thanks to Reddit and Flixed that won’t be a problem anymore.  Reddit users have been blowing up the Hulu Reddit pages about a random episode option.  Hulu’s Senior Vice President of Experience, Ben Smith, recently held a “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit.  The top post on the Reddit page is one user asking about adding the random episode option.

Reddit user’s went on to list that they would want the option for Seinfeld, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Family Guy, and South Park.  These four shows never need to be watched in order.  Each episode is a new story that barley connects to previous episodes.

Seinfeld is widely known as the show about nothing.  And according to Ben Smith, whenever Hulu has talked about adding this option they refer to it as the “Seinfeld Problem.”  Seinfeld is one of the greatest shows of all time and choosing an episode always drives people crazy.  I usually look away and randomly pick which episode to watch, but I still have to pick which season.

Flixed, a streaming news website, has created a downloadable extension for Google Chrome users to access the “Random Episode” option on Hulu.

The extension is incredibly easy to download and well worth the time it’s going to save.  For anyone that wants to download you can get it here.  All you have to do is make sure you are on Google Chrome, then press download.  When you go into your Hulu click the show you want to watch and the “Random Episode” option will be there.
