This is an article not like the others as there were three major bombshells that happened today. The first is that Russia has been banned from all major international competitions starting on 2019 till 2023. The second is about CONCACAF.
RUSSIA BANNED FROM 2020 TOKYO OLYMPICS, 2022 BEIJING WINTER OLYMPICS AND 2022 FIFA WORLD CUP
At Noon Eastern, WADA or the World Anti-Doping Agency, announced that Russia is banned from the Olympics in 2020 and the World Cup in 2022. This is major because there hasn’t been any nation from UEFA ever to be banned from competition to the World Cup in over eighty years. In fact the last time this happened was in the middle of World War II where there was a stoppage of play world wide. For the upcoming World Cup Qualification out of the 55 nations only 54 can make it to the World Cup (including Kosovo and Gibraltar, both of them not being an independent nation under the United Nations). This is the second time in consecutive Olympic cycles that Russia was banned from the Olympic Games (2018 in Pyongchang).
